Joe Lieberman, who might be called sentient sewage were it not a corruption of the concept of sentience and an insult to sewage, will not be satisfied until health care reform legislation is renamed the "Joe Lieberman Is the Most Important Man Ever To Be Interviewed on a Television News Program Act" and amended to allow the insurance companies based in his own state to own all Americans, as slaves, just like Harry Reid said.
Naturally, the Emanuel administration is urging Reid to do whatever Lieberman wants so they can get a health care bill passed and then move on to letting Lieberman dictate everything else the government of the United States will do for ever and ever.
Reid, to his credit, appears to be balking. For now.
Meantime, a new poll shows that 81 percent of Democrats want Lieberman tarred, feathered and set adrift on a raft off the coast of Somalia. Or they want Reid and the Democrats to punish him, anyway, by stripping him of his committee chairmanship, for starters.
Reid, to his discredit, appears to be balking. For now.
But here's the really incomprehensibly shockingly bizarre thing: Only 81 percent?
Worse than Nevada's two Tarished Buffoons?
No -- NOTHING could be worse than those pieces of garbage.
Look, no one should be surprised by Lieberman's vindictive actions -- he's been pissed off for years, because the Democrats won't embrace him, so this is his way of paying back people.
Don't worry -- Lieberman will not be re-elected in the Nutmeg State. Instead, he'll just go for a nice, cushy lobbying job.

True, Happygirl. Loserman should finally, FINALLY lose in 2012... But what can Dems do until then? I hate to say this, but Harry Reid just needs to stop listening to The White House and kick Joementum's @ss! I know Reid wants to get health care done ASAP (since his political future back here depends on it), so the best way to do it now is to ignore Obama & Emanuel, and just nuke the filibuster & pass the bill without Loserman & his fellow ConservaDem creeps.

Lieberman accepted $450,000 in campaign money from the insurance industry and his wife is a lobbyist for pharm drug interests that would lose profits with health care reform. It's a husband-wife conflict of interest team. Their pillow talk reeks of corruption.
And why is Rahm Emanuel pressuring Harry Reid to "give Joe Lieberman what he wants" in exchange for a "win" on a compromise bill?
A gutted and whimpy health care "reform" bill won't get Reid reelected...to say the least of it.
Reid's got to quit kow-towing to Lieberman and resurrect the "Lyndon Johnson treatment" in the Senate. Time to stop using the left jab, Harry. Tell JL he'll lose his chairship of the Homeland Security Committee, and kick him out of the caucus if he votes with the GOP. Or else chuck the 60-vote thing for a simple majority, even without Sen. Webb and them moderates. This once-in-generation opportunity for needed health reform CAN'T be missed.

Hugh is right, people. While Jim Gibbons has only tried to destroy one state (with partial success) and John Ensign -- always irrelevant -- has only destroyed his own political career, Lieberman is far more dangerous. If he's allowed to succeed, he will destroy the potential for millions to get health care, and thus some will die due to its lack. True, Ensign's war vote did result in the deaths of innocents, but it would have happened either way. Lieberman is solely responsible for this health care fiasco, and thus the blood will be on his hands directly.

A forgotten chapter in the history of Joe Lieberman....
In 2006, he was opposed in the Democratic primary by Ned Lamont, who ran as a peace candidate against Lieberman's hawking voting record. Surprisingly, Lamont won the Democratic primary. Unfortunately, Lieberman then ran as an Independent, and put together enough Republicans and hawkish Democrats to win a three-way race.
So what is forgotten about this history?
Lieberman was supported by his fellow Senator, Barack Obama. Yup that guy.
A lot of faithful Gleaner readers are so consumed with understandable hatred for Dubya that they didn't look too carefully at Obama. Gleaner readers were seduced by a candidate who could speak in complete English sentences, and actually be eloquent.
I think the halo is rubbing off the hawkish Democrats, from Lieberman to Obama.

I am utterly confused by Joe Lieberman. The dude says one thing back a few days ago, then comes on a show this weekend and says something else. Then he says something back in September that he refutes now. And another instance occurred where he said something a few years back about health care reform and he says something else now.
The one thing that is constant is this: Whenever someone in the Senate gets close to voting and passing a bill on health care reform, this idiot steps forward and tries to throw a monkey wrench.
It has happened time and time again.
This clearly shows he has health care insurance company money lining his pockets.
If he is implicated in derailing health care reform, I hope the voting public takes note of this guy (as well as the ENTIRE Republican Party who we know is going to vote no). And vote them out. Just cast their asses out in the cold. Plain and simple.
I am personally going to watch the final vote. And I am going to make sure that I make a running list of everyone and anyone that votes no on it. That way I can make sure I disseminate it as widely as possible, especially for those that vote no and were elected by the Sovereign State of Nevada.
Because if they vote no, it is OBLIGATORY that they be singled out for not only being voted out of office, but that they be recorded and tabulated to go down in history as the most despicable officials that could care less about people; that if anyone dies, THEIR blood is on their hands. Period. Sounds drastic. But it's true.

You don't think Harry doesn't have a back up plan? If he can't get Libertman, he'll concentrate on Snowe from Maine. He has a better chance with her than with Liberman. Could be another liberal GOP senator he will work on as well.
