On second thought, I'd like to revise that assessment. Oh, raging homophobia would fit right in with the rest of the paranoid governor's assorted neuroses, pyschoses and syndromes. There's little doubt that he's a-scared of the gays. But a decision to veto the bill is probably driven not by Gibbons the Life-Long Bumpkin's fear that if rights are extended to people in same sex relationships then it will threaten his and Dawn's ... oh wait, bad example.
Anyway, what I was trying to say is it's not his homophobia that is the main reason he's promising a veto. Rather, it is his belief that a veto will play well with the mouth-breathing teabaggers who will decide the Republican gubernatorial primary next year. Betcha.
"I just don't believe in it" - I presume he means "liberty and justice for all"? Or does he not believe that gay people were "endowed by their creator with certain unalianable rights"? I hope and pray that we worked as hard as we did for a super majority so that they can override any veto and shove this right back up his ***.
As an aside - I am assuming that the Governor will be teabagging with someone tomorrow?

OK, my theory. Governor Assaulter is a two-time loser in the marriage department. I don't know the circumstances of his first divorce, but this one obviously is unpleasant, since he probably has had to run to a dictionary to find out what a ferret is.
So, The Gibber-Grabber probably figures, no one should want to get married, so he thinks he's doing a favor for gays.
Either that, or that photoshop of his love affair with Dan Burns really got to him.

So let me get this straight, a measure is passed by a body of elected representatives and then this doofus won't sign because HE doesn't believe in it. WGAF? What else doesn't he believe in? Education, medical care, social services, roads (in Southern Nevada only), and so on and so forth. Does anyone regret not voting for that woman with the funny axcent?

Domestic partnerships are clearly un-Nevadan. Finding a way to get people health insurance, affordable living arrangements, stable, family environments are not something this State needs to start embracing. I agree with Gibbons disagreement of the disagreeable thing. Marriage is the only way for two people to not live in the same home and have multiple affairs with other people in a marital situation. Can you imagine what would happen if that bill were signed into law? Cheating on your partner is the last special thing only married people can enjoy. It would spoil the show Wife Swap, on ABC Friday at 8, 7 central time.

Vegas Shopper, no I don't regret not voting for that shrill backstabber. The state would be voting out a Democrat instead of a Republican in 2010. But keep in mind that the Senate only needs 2 Republican Senators to over ride a veto. Call them.
