As the Nevada Republican Party tries to rebuild and reconnect with voters, it continues to bask in the glow of the sort of publicity you just can't buy.

So which is more embarrassing -- the error committed by the grown-ups at NBC News (you did spot it, right?) or area newspaper columnist John L. Smith's tragically failed attempt at a clever bon mot?
Meantime, one of the many, many lawyers Gibbons has had to hire since he was elected governor told NBC that "infidelity is not relevant to anything in Nevada." Admittedly, if anybody should know about the condition of not being relevant, it would be someone associated with Gibbons.
Having said that, not to belabor the obvious or anything but Gibbons has said all along that he did not have sex with that woman. Or that other one either. So while infidelity may or may not be relevant to a divorce case in a no-fault state, as the Gibbons mouthpiece contends, the attorney's statement suggests a confirmation of what everyone already knew, i.e., pretty much everything Jim Gibbons says is a lie.
Wow. Just wow. And I'm sorry, but I have to say this. These are the same folks that think that allowing gay & lesbian couples to marry will "destroy the institution of marriage"?

Maybe now that our favorite skanky Governor is showing how much he "respects" the institution of marriage, the Leg will think a little more about passing SB 207... And hopefully bringing marriage equality to Nevada some day soon.

Amazing time we live in, we have a genius in the White House and an imbecile in Carson City. Is the electorate in Nevada on acid?

Rich- I ask myself the same thing all the time. This is the same state that Obama won by 12%? The same state that sends Shelly Berkley and Dina Titus to the US House? Really??!!

Oops, and my bad. I also want SB 207 passed, but that's another non-discrimination bill (that will hopefully be amended to be trans-inclusive). SB 283 is the domestic partner bill, and hopefully that will also pass.

Gleaner, I spotted the error by MSNBC: Gibbons sent a zillion text messages to a doctor's wife, not a state employee.
At the time, the media had a lot of fun with that one. "I did not have text with that woman!" Gibbons was dubbed "the luv guv"
Here's one part of the story that nobody is following: For a decade, Jim Gibbons lived in Washington, while Dawn lived in Nevada. What was Jim Gibbons doing for companionship during that long time?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Wow. I knew John L. Smith was a shadow of his former self in print, but damn, that was the lamest TV interview ever (unless there is something more brilliant on the NBC cutting room floor). He should really stick to the newspaper.

It's horrifying to see UMC featured on 60 Minutes this past Sunday evening for closing it's oncology treatment facility and leaving thousands without chemotherapy. Then we have the circus clown that is our governor maing the national news with his problem with lying and keeping his pants zipped. Nevermind that we also in Nevada have about the highest high school drop out rate, the lowest per capita student spending and the highest foreclosure rates.
Governor Zero cuts a real fine example for us doesn't he?

Q: What do you get when you combine the lowest taxes and the smallest government?
A: Nevada.

Shouldn't we be celebrating this? A MALE Republican elected official that likes WOMEN? And they are above the age of majority!!! No restrooms, no interns, no rape, no male prostitutes (allegedly.) I think Nevada should be proud! Let's be thankful for what we have, not upset with what we don't have. Our guy likes girls!
