For what it's worth...

Fatigued by the media's politeness, the Gleaner figured ah what the hell and sent an email to Ben Kieckhefer, spokester for one James Arthur Gibbons, governor (in exile) of the state of Nevada:

From: Hugh Jackson

To: Ben Kieckhefer
Subject: a question...

Hi Ben, I have an on-the-record question:

Is the governor having an affair?

No.

And so there it is, on the record. From a spokester, anyway.

And so we have it! Hugh, you are absolutely the all time GLEANER of truth and the American Way.
Here is your next question for Ben:
Is Jim Gibbons a chip-hiding, gangster wanna-be, yellow-bellied, whore-mongering, skirt-chasing, pudding drooling, innefective, inept, head up the ass idiot?
Oh and should I add huevo-less?

Hi, Ben. I have a follow up. Is Dawn?

That could come back to haunt them.

What is on everybody's mind is if he farts in the bath tub and bites the bubbles.

Wrong question, because affair conveys somewhat of an emotional liaison... and we know he lacks all emotions, like a steely fighter pilot... better question

"So who's he banging?"

Hugh, you blew it. What a sad day for journalism. I bleed for you. I bleed for us.

You asked, "Is the governor having an affair?"

AN affair. He's probably having several.

BTW, little Anjeanette was on cable's Headline News today with the story... once again the national spotlight shines on our little state, and not in a good way.

that was me...oooops

"That could come back to haunt them."

Ya think?

Ben Kieckhefer must have been a really terrible person in a past life.
There is no other reason he deserves that job.
I almost feel bad for him.
almost

Fuc#$ing the State does not count as an affair.

Don't be too hard on Ben. He's a good guy caught in an impossible situation. Yes, he chose to take the job, so he deserves what he's going to have to endure as the state melts down under Gibbons. But Ben's not evil or stupid, unlike, say, his boss.

Judy,
I bet Dawn's got em' in her purse which is probably the reason for all the acrimony. She's a holdin' onto 'em as a bargaining chip or perhaps she has a damn good recipe for huevos rancheros.
