Re: Just saying hey.
First, as always, thanks for reading. It's our secret.
Second, are you tired of those icky America-hating liberal moonbat brigades and their incessant harping about how your party's presidential nominee by default, Sen. John McCan't, isn't as squeaky clean as he wants everybody to think he is? Have you grown weary of the national leftist nutroots and their colossally earnest examinations of obscure policy arcana that proves — proves! — that McCan't is yet another cynical Republican crony, just like you and all your colleagues and associates?
Then perhaps you'd prefer to hear it from one of your own.
In his column Thursday, George Will, the wingnut darling of people like yourselves, i.e., conservatives who can read, slams the New York Times not for running a story about McCan't schtupping that lobbyist, but for letting the schtupping part get in the way of the more important story about McCan't's coziness with corporate cronies.
Then Will, who as you know has long been the preening embodiment of snooty right-wing condescension against ignorant heartland bumpkins who you secretly are embarrassed to admit constitute your party's base of support, lays into McCan't's cynical manipulation of campaign finance laws specifically and the default nominee's hypocrisy vis-a-vis reform generally, concluding:
Although his campaign is run by lobbyists; and although his dealings with lobbyists have generated what he, when judging the behavior of others, calls corrupt appearances; and although he has profited from his manipulation of the taxpayer-funding system that is celebrated by reformers -- still, he probably is innocent of insincerity. Such is his towering moral vanity, he seems sincerely to consider it theoretically impossible for him to commit the offenses of appearances that he incessantly ascribes to others.
Such certitude is, however, not merely an unattractive trait. It is disturbing righteousness in someone grasping for presidential powers.
So take heart, all you wingnut Gleaner readers! The problem isn't that the nominee you're grudgingly stuck with isn't conservative enough, or is too accommodating to the darned liberal media, as the Limbaugh/Hannity crowd contends. The problem (well, one of them anyway) with your nominee is that he's just another arrogant crooked Republican who thinks his shit doesn't stink. So that must be a relief.
Hey, glad to help. And again, thanks for reading.
Geoprge Will - the new poster child for Euthanasia.

Folks, if anybody should know about being an arrogant, insincere, two-faced purveyor of total BS, it is George Will.

"Icky" liberal moonbat? Isn't that the name of Huckabee Rodham-Clinton's campaign manager?
Close enough....

Oops; just in! Per Icky, Penn N. Tellher is the Huckabee R-C de facto campaign manager.
Icky is just trying to get AH to toot his horn in some smoke-filled closet.
Well...it works for the gubber.

I loved him in "Die Hard" and think he would make an excellent President. He seems to get out of every situation and always kills the terrorists.

To all those who read and post on this blog: Disregard anything posted by Texex, aka Harry Stephen Lang. He has an agenda which is not one that supports the Democratic Party. His purpose is to degrade anyone who disagrees with him. He makes statements that are slanderous, outrageous and absurd. I agree with JLA. Texex needs professional help

Dear "Mad As Hell" you are RIGHT - and Thank YOU! He is a Douglas County Democrat that lives an isolated, angry, dysfunctional life-style and he needs professional help!
I work with Disabled Vets and many have mental disorders and/or mental illness. Most are dealing with PTSD or TBI, and nealy all are struggling with depression - which is highly treatable with today's Pharmaceutical, Cognitive and Behavorial Therapies. Sadly, too many do not take their medications and do not go into therapy with and open mind and stick with it long enough - in fact, that is often the main problem in successfully treating them.
People who have Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyper-Activity Disorder, or are Obsessive/Compulsive and Bi-Polar are even more challenging to treat - this is why Universal Healthcare with a full range of Mental Health services is so very critical to our society!
Untreated, many of these patients not only descend into a sad life void of happiness and overwhelmed with bitterness - for too many it turns into hate and sociopathic narcissism - and can lead to a complete psychic breakdown, and quickly a horrendous criminal act - like walking into a public place and shooting innocent strangers and by-standers at random!
We ALL need to, finally, seriously address the comprehensive Healthcare, including Mental Health, needs of our nation!

And J Lunatic Assinett is double posting as Mad as Hell and talking to himself.
I'd be ROTFLMAO if it weren't so sad and so sick for am man to actually talk to himself on a public blog.
JLA is going through a complete breakdown in public no less! Yes, J. Lunatic, please do go avail yourself again of the excellent VA psych ward. All that Scotch and pills and chain smoking is killing you, buddy. I'm sure they keep a room just for you as a frequent flyer. Just follow the route you're so familiar with and they will give you another paper sooner or later.
Or shall I call the VA for you? Is that what you're asking for tonight? I can and will since you seem totally out of control; even almost threatening.

OMG! "Texex" you don't know the truth when it's right in front of your very eyes - I am not posting under "Mad as Hell" - but, your sociopathic, delusional mind can't even consider the possibility that you may be wrong!
You're so out there - I don't even drink scotch (I think that's Zahara's poison of choice) - and the V.A. doesn't even have a psych ward here in Nevada - so, keep telling more and more lies and destroying what little integrity you may have once had - you are sooooo pathetic and sad!

Gentlemen,
Please get your own blog so that we, the readers, do not have to be subjected to wading through the hurling of viscious invectives against one another that are not comments on what Hugh has written but more of a personal vendetta.
It reminds me of Fox News.
Please. Are we not better than this, JLA and TexExNV?

I agree "enough" and on that note let me point out that next Tuesday, March 5th "The Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act" has FINALLY been scheduled for a vote in the House of Representatives. It is very important that everyone mark their calendars and make it a point to call and ask their members of Congress to vote YES - the Capitol switchboard number is (202) 224-3121, then send a quick e-mail to info@wellstone.org to let them know you called.
This is an important piece of legislation for all of us, and especially so for those of us that have a family member or friend struggling with mental disorders or mental illness.
