On the one hand, the prospect of Sen. John MoreWars McCan't's lascivious encounters with a female lobbyist who was half his age at the time seems like just another entry in the War Party culture of corruption: Republicans schtupping lobbyists, and even sexual activity is reduced to crony capitalism. (NYT)
On the other hand, we suspect the story of McCan't's amorous adventures was in fact planted by the McCan't campaign itself in a desperate effort to convince voters of the 189-year-old's vitality and virility. Tip off: Unlike the typical Republican sex scandal coming out of Washington, this one involves a member of the opposite sex.
And really, if the stench of corruption doesn't prove that McCan't is just another Republican, thereby putting him in good graces with the War Party's conservative base, nothing will.
Since he would happily sell his wife to a pimp to become president, this shouldn't be all that surprising.

If she was half his age then he should have had two of 'em. heh heh heh

The Repubs will hate him even more now. If only the lobbyist had been a guy, then they'd accept it. But a woman? They just don't like that sort of thing.

To: "Update - USA daily on growing" etc. at 9:33, and to everyone else for that matter:
I chopped the bulk of that comment because it was just a cut and paste from somewhere else. If you want to bring attention to a story or an item from somewhere, provide a link. And I didn't do this just because the "Obama got a blow job from someone with a weenie" crap is just a bunch of right-wing fuckwittery -- I also shitcanned a lengthy Olbermann anti-Bush rant that somebody posted in the comments the other day.
I'm not going to monitor all comments because that would require reading all comments, and life is way, way too short. But on those occasions that I find a cut and paste job I'll just axe it. There are plenty of excessively long comments posted in this little corner of the cyberwasteland already without reposting verbatim and in entirety stuff that's already somewhere else on the internets. Provide a link instead.

You go, Gleaner! Those of us who are more parsimonious with our comments are tired of excessively long comments and constant argument over the NSDP. Thanks!

A rhetorical question: If HRC operates her campaign on defecit spending, how can she possibly be expected to handle the U.S. budget. As she has often said "Words are cheap".

So, so funny.

Younger voters? Shit, that means the 50+ crowd will be reached out to. damn!

Since I don't know how to do a link here--and don't really want to!--I'll suggest going to mediamatters.org, where Eric Alterman perfectly assesses the point: the media will get caught up in the affair rumors and not notice that McCain was falling all over himself to take care of a lobbyist and the big money boys at whose teats he has sucked ever since entering politics.

MG, if you want to learn how I'll lead you thru it but nobody is going to type in all that junk to get to a link.

Here's a link to an Obama supporter who was not even able to think of U.S. Senate legislative accomplishment by Obama (from Matthews of Hardball:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj4VK9wVAi0
What bills did Obama sponsor BY HIMSELF in the U.S. Senate? Exactly two.
-- a bill to promote democracy in the Congo
--- a bill to create a post office

Imagine for a moment Bill back in the White Haus.

Hillary has lost the campaign. Take a clear look at reality for christ sakes. SHE LOST GET OVER IT

I saw that interview with Matthews when it happened. It was absolutely brutal. The Obama supporter should have done just a slight bit of homework when he found out he was going to be interviewed. It is just basic sense.
But lets be honest here. Neither Obama or Hillary became Senators because they wanted to be Senators. It was a stepping stone, for both. I don't think either have stellar Senatorial records. But that is probably for the better. The longer you are around the more votes you have on your record and the more you have to explain.
