Remember when the Clintons attacked Barack Obama for something he wrote in kindergarten, and it looked like the wheels were totally coming off the hitherto-considered unstoppable Clinton juggernaut?
For some reason, we were reminded of that Friday afternoon upon hearing that the campaign had hastily thrown together a conference call to tell reporters that Barack Obama hates the gambling industry. (Chicago Tribune, Sun's Early Line)
Along with Clinton stand-bys/stand-ins Rory Son of Harry and Mr. Excitement himself, former Nevada Governor Bob Miller, the call featured mean-spirited attacks from Las Vegas socialite and highly paid corporate gambling apologist Jan Jones, D-Harrah's (phoning in mean-spirited attacks, at right), and her old boss at the transnational gambling conglomerate, Phil Satre.
The industry's dumb political stunt aimed at taking some some edge off the Culinary's endorsement of Obama complaint stems from the fact that Obama has raised questions about the impacts that the spread of gambling might have on communities in his home-state of Illinois.
Now "it seems a little hypocritical" for Obama to be touting the Culinary's endorsement, said Jones, whose company gave at least $50,000 to the gubernatorial campaign of some perv named Jim Gibbons (no doubt it's more; perhaps someone would like to spend some time with the clunky SOS reports?).
So to recap. Prominent personalities from deep in the bowels of the powerful corporate gambling infrastructure, renowned locally for its deep concern for an open and fair political process that gives everyone a voice no matter what their income, point of view or socioeconomic status, would like all the people who are voting in a Democratic caucus to know that the world's biggest gambling corporations prefer Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama. Okeydoke. Noted.
Morons--all of them.
And may I add to the list the always ridiculous Dina Titus, and the retarded stunt led by her and her little cronies, Dwayne Chesnut, John Cahill, Vicky and John Birkland, and Patricia Montgomery.
Seriously folks? You want to kill the at large caucus locations because Clinton didn't get culinary's nod? What a bunch of hypocritical bull-shit!
Is Karl Rove secretly running the Clinton campaign in NV? Nothing says George W. Bush like trying to crush the voice of the working class because it is politically expedient.
Way to go fellow “Democrats.” You are a bunch of duplicitous sell-outs.

Gotta say that I'm baffled a bit angrier than usual about the conduct of the Clinton people. After months of volunteers getting ready and getting this thing in much, much better shape than a lot of people including myself expected it would be, they seem intent on turning it into a circus presumably so that if Clinton doesn't win, they can blame the process.

If that's supposed to be former LV mayor (BURP!) J. Jones in the picture.. you better get another picture.. or try a close-up.

PSWhere's the FBI? Are there any warriors in Nevada?

I agree; once Clinton leaves, what happen to the Nevada Democratic party? Someone needs to stand up and speak out, and not just on blogs before Las Vegas is ripped apart at the seams. Someone with integrity, maybe even someone from the Latino community needs to say, whether or not they support Clinton, that Las Vegas will nbot tolerate this.

Isn't it ironic that at every Hillary campaign event in the state, Jill Derby and Hillary hacks from Nevada have stood up front bragging about the "at-large" caucus precincts and how they are trying not to "disenfranchise" voters and now that the Culinary Union has endorsed Obama the Hillary hacks cry foul?
I say they set it up in the first place. Now that it might now work for them, they slam Obama about gambling and cry foul about the "at-large" precinct bogus super-accelated delegate generation formula.
Smell the fear!
I say that Clinton insiders set the formula up in the first place! Neither Edwards people nor Obama people were entrenched in the Nevada State Democratic Party at the time these "at-large" rules were written! But we all know what political dem hacks in this state control our party and control us.
Wanna talk about "disenfranchising" Nevada registered Democrat? By going with a caucus, they cut out working gold miners who can't get to the caucus, working casino workers who work at casinos statewide that have less than 4,000 employees and people who are sick on the 19th and can't get to the caucus for various other reasons and don't get an absentee ballot or don't get to early vote in a regular primary.
This situation was built to get Hillary in. Face it.
Just like Reid let Bill Clinton force his way into being the main speaker at the Lake Tahoe clarity 10-year anniversary event a few months back that forced Al Gore to cancel out, the Clintons control the Reid family involved in Nevada democratic party deals.
I'm sick of these unethical mudder feckers.

This is like the American version of Evita on the Nevada tour.

There's a line from that show..."we have ways of making you vote for us, or at least of making you abstain..."
