« Clinton reaches out |

- The locally printed flagship publication of an Arkansas-based leveraged buyout firm finally manages to exploit Nevada's caucus and garner a little national attention for itself. No, not for its uniquely insightful coverage of the campaigns that are taking place under its own nose. For its perverse and twisted endorsement of Barack Obama. CNN
- Meantime on the War Party side, the same paper turns its back on its oft-touted crush on libertarianism and passes over an opportunity to endorse Ron Paul. Instead, R-J uses endorsement to remind Mormon advertisers how welcome they are (LVRJ). The paper's mercenary snub of its ideological soulmate in favor of arguably the most profoundly artificial and insincere prick ever to seek the White House will look particularly short-sighted and ill-advised when Paul beats Willard in Nevada Saturday.
- If somebody knows somebody who knows Bill Clinton, tell them to tell him to dial it back some and quit scaring the children. KGO
- If somebody knows somebody who knows D. Taylor, tell them to tell his union reps to dial it back some and quit scaring his members. Sun, TaylorMarsh
- At least 1,000 show up in Reno to see John Edwards (RGJ). Pretty good for a guy who doesn't exist. TPM
GAWD! Save us from Bill Clinton being back in the White House!
And when did his bags under his eyes grow? He looks like a skinny Fred Thompson!
As if he cared about Nevada in the first place. Tell that to your NAFTA friends, Billbo.

yeah, he really did look terrible, huge bags under the eyes you could have put your groceries in.
...and of course, he was lying about HRC's involvement in the lawsuit here, and the facts in the case.
It was a timely reminder of what to expect with another Clinton at 1600.
Good point on NAFTA too, remember how that was supposed to 'fix Mexico'?...stop illegal immigration?...

The ONLY ones Pushing to get Ron Paul elected are those that believe HE WILL LEGALIZE DOPE.

Wish the Sun would quit stealing my ideas about how the caucusux is unfair to Jews.
And, Gleaner, you can't be serious about reading Taylor Marsh? yucccckkkk!

I sure wish Fact Check would come back and guide my fingers to those CCE reports for the caucusux.
I'm using "Nevada Democratic Presidential Caucus" as a search. Is that the right name or is there another?
I sure want to see those financial reports on the wonderful caucusux efforts.

Basically if you insert "which would have been fine if Hillary got the endorsement like we thought she would" under your breath every 7 seconds, that Bill Clinton interview is spot on.

So far neither NSDP or Clark has filed their NVSOS CCE's for 2007--both owe an annual report that covers everything raised and spent over $100.
I'm curious to see Clark which grossed 300K for its JJ/Dinner this year, but only netted 110K--we'd like to see where $190,000.00 in expenses went for that event.
I'm also curious to see the grand total for caucus staff salary and benefits which are in excess of 1mil and rising---they have been pink slipped as of 1/31/2008, but senior caucus staff may have contracts that pay them well after this is done Saturday.
They're all leaving soon--leaving us holding the bag on this on-- and we don't yet know how much this has cost us.

Smear the Union...Typical Clinton...wake up Nevada, we need a change, this is Obama's time, the Clinton are so last season. A new day calls for new leadership. That generation had their chance, and the current day mess is because of the inability to draw the sides together and solve America's challenges. Hillary divides and Obama unites. The is just a Nevada pissing match blip in the process As for the lawsuit, Hillary had two sets of legal briefs ready to GO>>>
One to argue either way, pending the Culinary endorsement. Typical Clinton, again, It just fun to watch them pull the strings of the local elite to act on their behalf.

Wonder is this is also going to happen to the Dems.
Naaaah! It's all been "planned" too well. Well, mabe all but the lawsuit(s). NVSOS is going to be awfully busy this year.

Nevada and it's Democratic Party caucus has alread accomplished a great deal; The real teeth-baring Clintons have been exposed as the short tempered control freaks that they are.
I could be wrong.

Right on Bill! You told it like it is!
The Culnary's whining about "disinfranchising" voters is a smoke screen to change the subject from its power-grab to get more delegate votes than it deserves in its Strip caucus sites.
And Bill is right -- those rules were not completely understood by the party board members (those members who did should ALL resign, including you, MikeZ).
Obama would have objected if Clinton got the Culinary's endorsement.
And besides, we are already seeing the intimidation of Culinary members by union organizers to vote for Obama (or stay away from the Strip caucuses) that was expected to happen, and it is now a national story.
Maybe, finally, the Culinary will get the FBI investigation into its practices that it has long deserved.

Heh. The Reid machine and the Culinary machine engage in hand-to-hand combat over two candidates who probably won't give two s**ts about Nevada issues come January 20.
Here's an idea: how's about extending a big middle finger salute to Nevada machine politics on Saturday by supporting the non-machine candidate who actually gives a crap about working class people -- John Edwards.
Viva La Revolucion!

Remember that Culinary has only 1/3 its members on duty in this time-frame...their majority will vote in the neighborhoods.

That Obama "endorsement" was really a piece of work, wasn't it. I added to the R-J's blog a little mention of how the corporate mainstream media never report the curious fact that most of our glorious "hopeful" Savior of America Senator Half-a-Black's top-ten campaign contributors are huge Wall Street investment firms (yep, Barack's really a-gonna rock the boat, hehheehhehe), and the comment mysteriously disappeared from the Review-Journal.

Judge allows casino votes. Typical Nevada bull shit. I can't wait for this goddam election to be over.

Rich S,
BUT, which Party gets the nod and who gets to nominate Justice Stevens and Ginsberg replacement to the Supreme Court?
Posted by: | 01/17/2008 at 11:55 AM
War party candidate Mitt Romney continues to use gay marriage to rile up and round up Mormon wingers in the war party. Full minute ad on LV radio alerting folks to his long time homophobic record defending ineqality for all gay people in America especially those is that liberal state of Massachusetts.
Dick head!!!

None of us will know the reality until they lock the doors at 12Noon and get a headcount of total eligible voters, and the candidates groups split up. Only then, will any of us know how it looks for our candidate and how many are supporting whom. I'm supporting Edwards and standing my ground at my Precinct Caucus!
But, if, by chance, there are not enough Edwards supporters to reach the arbitrary 15% threshold - then, the strategy is to see if we can make the "Uncommitted/Undecided" group "viable", if not I'm going over to the Obama camp, and Clinton is the final choice - what's important is that no one gives up, walks out (and disenfranchizes themselves) and we get a DEMOCRAT in the White House in 2008!
We can fight for a Primary in 2012 AFTER the Precinct Caucus Saturday - and I have every intention of doing so, in Las Vegas, in Pahrump, in Reno AND Carson City (later)!
