Looks like that shut 'em up for a day, anyway
Democratic candidates for president issued statements Monday saying that the National Intelligence Estimate on Iran's non-existent nuclear weapons program just goes to show that they were right when they suggested that Bush should take the "World War III" jibberish that he was spewing a few weeks back and put it where he usually puts his head while retrieving geopolitical insight, i.e., up his ass. Well, the Democratic candidates might have worded it differently.
Meantime, War Party prez wannabes, having spent months telling anyone who would listen how eager they are to blow up Iran once they become president of all the bombs and airplanes and stuff, were strangely silent.
For instance, Willard Milton Romney assures anyone who will listen that there is no problem that can't be solved by blaming it on "radical Islamic jihadists." Yet he reacted to Monday's disheartening, for him, news — that the best next target for a bloodthirsty War Party president to attack isn't really worth attacking — by issuing a statement basically promising to be Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons.
Dolph Giuliani, who has promised to kill more Muslims than any other presidential candidate no matter what the consequences, responded Monday to the revelation that a key plank in his campaign's platform was no longer relevant by issuing a strong statement announcing he had filed for the Oklahoma primary.
A stirring rendition of "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" may have been the high point of John McCain's otherwise unnoticed presidential aspirations. But no mention of Iran Monday. Instead, McCain was pleased to announce that while Obama's got Oprah (Oprama!), he's got Kurt Schilling.
And Mike Huckabee continued to pretend that he's the nice one. Hopefully, that will get him the War Party nomination, by the way. Then once he's their guy and it's too late, the nation can find out at its leisure what an asshole and a nutball he really is.
It's rather pleasant to see the War Party warmongers afraid to threaten more war war war, if only for a little while. On the other hand, if Iran isn't a nuclear threat, Dolph, Willard and the gang will ratchet up the rhetoric about the need to attack undocumented Mexican service industry workers before they fly hijack jets and fly them into our buildings again.
Willard can be seen here.
And imagine a whole day free of Sherm comments from the Gleaner. Only 9 more to go. Can the Gleaner really pull it off or will he cave in to old cravings?

We should all be very scared of Huckabee. Can you imagine the USA with a president who doesn't believe in evolution? Is the War Party having a whose dumbest contest? Especially after eight long years of a moron in the White House! God help us.
