- Transnational gold mining conglomerates to Harry Reid: "Say my name, bitch." AP, LVRJ
- Since Nevada environmental regulators (inasmuch as such creatures exist) won't protect the public from dangerous mercury being spewed by Harry Reid's aforementioned boyfriends in the mining industry, Idaho environmentalists will give it a try. Twin Falls Times-News
- Assemblyman Ruben Kihuen, the Official Latino of the Nevada Democratic Party, promises that when he's done milking media both local and national for stories about how pretty and important he is, and finally determines who he will personally select as the next president of the United States, the lucky candidate "will be here in person to accept my endorsement." RGJ
- Dancing with the Tards reject lines up behind Obama (LVRJ); Edwards gets nod from self-described "meager" legislator (LVRJ).
- Bill Richardson is also still running for president — if not of the United States, then perhaps of the Nuclear Energy Institute. (Sun, LVRJ, Ralston/Sun).
- It's not if the christiangodwholovesamericabest will rain down hell fire on Nevada, too, but when (LVRJ). Meantime, could get stinky 'round here when the winds change (NYT). If they ever do (LAT).
- Democrats love the former first lady; independents, maybe not so much. But then, it may not matter, because while there are enough War Party voters to nominate Dolph JulieAnnie, everybody else, even within his own party, hates him. LATimes/Bloomberg poll
- Beltway consultant industry darling Mikey Slanker and his house-trained War Party senator, Hairdo McWedgeshot, can at least give thanks to the the 'Do's Spongebob Foursquarepants god that saturating the airwaves with Slanker's trademark sleazy lying ads about Sen. Ted Stevens' opponent won't cost very much, the Alaska media market being relatively cheap. RetireTed.com
Um, that would be "whom he would select ..."
Gleaner, you should find some English professors to hang out with. Now that they won't have guns and all.

Lone Gunman: Who or whom cares?
Ruben is shaping up to be the Dem version of the Hair Do.
Plus, beyond hair, he's suffering from "it's gone to his head" disease. What a bore!

Ruben is young, this is his first taste of the limelight.
I think his intentions are genuine, just needs the experience to help him realize that the limelight is hollow and superficial.

I love the limelight. I like to boogie.

...and you know the old saw, "As goes Assembly District 11, so goes the nation."

Hopefully Ruben isn't suffering from "Dario" disease - believing his own hype and surrounding himself with sycophants.

At least Uncle Harry isn't running Rubin for Congress this time.

Ruben's a good guy and no sign of Dario-itis yet...unfortunate quote though...he's learning, so we'll forgive this faux pas.
The horrendously low turnout for his election should give anyone receiving his endorsement pause..if not a good giggle.
We have a lot of work to do there.

Harry needs to come up with a number on GROSS receipts. These are multinationals (as Hugh continues to point out, rightfully), who are benefiting from the 5th largest gold reserves in the world, especially when gold is and will be for many more years, sold at very high prices.
Reid needs to allow this tax or he will place himself in peril come his next election. When one considers a gaming tax increase is all but certain; and, considerinig hard rock mining has paid no taxes several times in the last decade.....well, dear Majority Leader, the writing is on the wall. You're either wiht us or against us!
Just remember, one Northern county used 3/4 of it's yearly road budget to fix the road to a Newmont Mine and then asked the Legislature for a tax increase approval.
Question, we know from Nevada's Constitution that we can only charge a max tax of 5%: Can we do 5% on top of what the Feds charge? Under the proposed Fed legislation, Nevada would get back 33% of Fed tax; would that count toward our 5% max?

Yes, Ruben seems to be a "good guy" but he is showing himself to be neither savvy nor a leader. Someone who is savvy would not produce such a painful quote. A leader would get out front and LEAD. instead, he comes off like every other political hack who waits for his constituents to tell some pollster what they think so he can see which way the wind is blowing. At this point, if he endorses Clinton he looks like he's jumping on the bandwagon. If he endorses anyone else, he has to deliver or he looks impotent.

Maybe he'll surprise us and not endorse Clinton or Richardson...then that will show he's his own man.
Such great burdens we've placed on this young man who I think I have a pair of boots older than he is. He fears the declining Reid and he really shouldn't fear the impotent, naked & fallen emperor...hell, no one else does!! LOL!
He should be pissed we put Horsford on the caucus video instead of him...that was a power-play, slap against Hispanics who we claim to be courting isn't it? That won't be forgotten will it? I know I wasn't the first person to point that out.
Ruben...they shit on you and used you...don't forget that son.
