Just when you thought this circus couldn't get any more ridiculous.

I dunno if it makes Americans any safer?

Well...since this war is an invaluable tool for terrorist recruitment, probably not. Does the whole endless war strategy make control over oil for a few US companies much easier than it would be without our troops' blood? Does it ensure the chance for more Blackwater, Bechtel and Halliburton profiteering? You bet it does.

Excellent find/post, G.

Do you realize that when Petraeus says things aren't going well in Iraq, he risks being sued by Sheldon? Doesn't he know that Sheldon sues EVERYBODY? In fact, maybe Sheldon could sue Iraq and make the war stop! Nah, he wants the war to go on. I take it back.

It is not Petraus's job to make America safer, that is Bush's job. The General's job is to determine and execute tactics that will advance the strategy, er, strategery, of his boss.

Have you been attacked by a radical muslim in the past 6 years? Well, have you, punk?

The reason we'll stay in this war forever is oil; not wmds, not a bad dictator, not terrorism, and certainly not giving a cowardly nation democracy. Any effort that brings peace and prosperity in Iraq means the oil starts pumping and world oil prices implode back to pre-war levels. This war is all about keeping oil prices high and the U.S. oil indigent.

Oh, anonymous "punk" at 4:14 p.m., know anybody who was killed or maimed in Iraq by Al Qaeda operatives who are there ONLY because George W. Bush decided to go to war against Saddam Hussein rather than keep his promise to the American people to hunt down Bin Laden? Know anybody who knows anybody who has been killed or maimed there? Here's hoping the Bush library is honest enough to have a prosthetics collection.

Hey "AnonyMOUSE" PUNK @ 4:14 - just so you know, some of us do know the difference between a General Officer's responsibility and those of the Commander-In-Chief and President.

As a matter of fact many of us are very, very concerned with the attacks on us by Radical Christians over the past 7 years!

The U.S. Constitution has been attacked (and there's a bunch of us that feel really strongly about keeping our oath of protecting and defending that particular piece of parchment), the rule of law has been trashed, our treasury is being stolen at a rate of about 10 Billion week (to date there's some 500 Billion that's been lost), and our military is being broken in an unethical, immoral, unnecessary, illegal, un-American Unjust War!

So, tough guy (whose afraid to even use his own name) who's the PUNK?

"Texex" RIGHT ON! But, don't forget it's NOT just about the Oil Money, there's all of the Contracting Money AND all the various Sub-Contracting Money TOO!

From the looks of things "back home", there ain't gonna be no Bush Library. No university has stepped forward wanting it on their campus. Probably get built at the Crawford Jr. High.

I apologize for any confusion that was initiated by my 4:14 post. I thought by including the infamous Bushism, "strategery", and the notorious Republican proof of war success, that a lack of attack "here" is proof of the president's success in the war against terrorism, that the post would be viewed in the sarcastic vein it was intended.

I'm sure all the wrist watches won't need winding for another 18 months.

Anon, my apologies.
