The Henderson Pavillion is a good thing for those of us who try to avoid the Strip. "Not everyone wants to go to the Strip." couldn't be more true. Yesterday, I went to see the Golden Rainbow's, "Ribbon of Life" at Ballys Jubilee Theater. The show was excellent but the venue was awful. Yes, they have fantastic costumes and scenery, the cast went 100% and gave brilliant performances; however, as the show went along people were leaving in droves. That theater was cold enough to store a side of beef for a year. Bally's said the could do nothing about the a/c...so, bottom line is I saw a wonderful show but am on the verge of pneumonia today. Ballys, in my opinion, ruined the good intentions of the many wonderful people who make the show happen. I've never been so cold in my life, drove home without turning the a/c on and then sat in the sun to warm up. This is a great example of why so many of us don't like the strip and one of the ten top reasons to avoid it. Then, on the other hand, I could have left which would have been the sane thing to do. Just bitching, I guess.

The fun part about the Post series is that while the news coverage has become increasingly mediocre, the editorial page in recent years has been moving in the direction of the R-J--dishonest, full of shit and uninteresting to read.

Elizabeth Edwards also met with a small group of local RNs on Saturday. She is up to speed and fluent on the major issues: looming shortages as the aging workforce (that would be me) retires, safe handling regulations to prevent injuries, staffing ratios and need to expand ranks of nursing educators. Clearly, nursing voices will plan an important role in an Edwards administration. Yes, she is genuinely smart and tough and her courage is palpable. I was moved by her presence. I'm still waiting for Gore, sort of like waitng for Godot at this point, but will enthusiastically support Edwards in the caucus in his absence.

RE: The Fox Faux Fight...

Scott Collins of the L.A. Times grossly errs in his premise, and conclusion, that "Shutting down a LEGITIMATE debate..." - he completely misses the point that there is too little, if anything, and often, nothing "LEGITIMATE" about Fox!

So, he's either as stupid as our former Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Tom Collins, or politically naive and misinformed!

Fox is still reeling from the defeat, and our victory, and we did EXACTLY what needed to be done to force Fox to re-evaluate the price of pandering to their superiors, their advertisers and uncivil, unfair and unprofessional journalistic misbehavior - maybe they will learn a lesson about integrity?

PUBLIC NOTE TO LIZ FOLEY & TOM COLLINS: You two started this fight. I personally and politiely warned you not to make such an egregious mistake and you both rebuffed my advice. Then, I even pleaded with you two - only to get mistreated with disdain, disrespected and ignored. So, I had no other choice in this fight but to stand with the Democratic majority of the people and do what I could to help defend our basic Democratic principles and the rights of the people - and I have no regrets (though it all could have been avoided).

Next time you two want to do something really stupid, may I suggest you do it ONLY in a personal posture and not embarrass any other Democrats or the Clark County or Nevada State Party?

Starting unnecessary battles, for your own personal, selfish, political posturing can be extremely risky - starting a fight with professinals is just plain dumb!

Fox is reeling from the defeat?

I am sure that Murdoch lost a lot of sleep over the Nevada Democratic Party.

It's not just about Murdoch and the Nevada State Party - it's bigger than that, way bigger!
