Everybody's a comedian

Because if the buzz doesn't start soon, it won't start at all, Bill Richardson will begin doing his part to enrich Iowa television stations and cable franchises Thursday. As far as introductory ads go (and a Richardson ad in Iowa or anywhere else at this point in the proceedings has to be considered an introductory ad), these are pretty cute -- the first one in particular.

Comments

Good ad - it's nice to see a Democrat instead of Mitt Romney who has been on cnn. Four more years of repugs woyuld make the nation suicidal!!!

Those are good ads.

There is no question Richardson is the most qualified.

More so that Hill, BO, and $400 Hair Cut.

The question is; do Nevadans & Iowans care?

Wrong "Pedro" the question is, "can Bill Richardson raise enough money to run enough of these great ads to educate enough people that he IS the most qualified?" Sadly, the mammouth monetary disadvantage is almost impossible to overcome for a guy that is not well known outside of the South-West!

That's why I'm leaning towards Edwards/Richardson for '08 - can you imagine how effective Richardson would be IF Edwards empowered him and let him publicly be a very active V.P.?

Then, we could re-elect both of them in 2012, and Richardson could go after the White House, with 8 years of positive national exposure, in 2016!

Hey, why not be an idealist - and hope and pray for the best?

JLA, Richardson is 59. Him running for prez 9 years from now is pretty doubtful. One of Edwards' big appeals is that he's a more spry kind of guy. I like Richardson, but I'd hesitate before voting for a 68 year old. Old people are so out of touch.

"Ryan Jerz" I spoke personaly with Richardson and he's NOT interested in any way in running for the V.P. position. He wants to be President - and clearly is the most qualified of all candidates (from both parties)!

The big BUT is can he raise the money to get the name recognition and break into the top tier AND win? As much as I would love to see that happen - it will take more than a miracle! I believe in miracles - but, this is asking for a couple, or three miracles in a row - and the odds are not with him - it's a looooong shot at best!

We agree on John Edwards, and I'm happily surprised to hear from many vets that they are supporting Edwards (and not holding any ill will against him for the Kerry debacle).

So, I'm strongly leaning Edwards/Richardson '08 (and 2012)!

Now, a gentle word about youth and aging...

We, in all honesty, aren't fully mature as adults until our mid-twenties (later for some) and most don't finish their formal education until there in there 30's, and, given the medical advances, 50 is now the "new 30" and considered "middle age" as more and more people are living cogent, vibrant, productive lives into their 80's and 90's (my Grandfather made his best mad, passionate love with my Grandmother the night he passed later in his sleep) - and the odds of seeing 100 are increasing!

Bill Richardson would be around 67 or 68 years old in 2016/17, but, he would have had a full two terms of positive exposure as V.P., and could win and hold the presidency (for two full terms) until he was 76 years old! In today's age that is very realistic!

The trick to NOT being an "Old person that's so out of touch" - is surrounding yourself with the wisest elders, the smartest middle-age, and the brightest young people available!

That's why our Army is so awesome! We are led by elder, but vibrant, and wise Generals and Command Sergeant Majors - who are fully supported by subordinate leaders (and staff) made up of the best middle aged professionals, who are leading our brightest youth - it's all about TEAMWORK!

Sadly, it's the politicians that are making our military inefficient today - and it will take the Democrats to set that back right also!

Age is a state of mind. That Jerz guy must be at least 6.

Yikes, texex. A serious comment garners that response? I keep forgetting how dedicated you are to the conversation that can be had here. Thanks for reminding me.

Payback is hell, ain't it. Surely you can't be serious that at a certain age the brain cells quit functioning in a person like Richardson. Most brillant people get more productive and creative with age and experience. But stupid is for eternity.

And how old was Psycho 43 when he got elected? I rest my case.
