Piling on, as it were, PoliticsTV.com has rejected the Nevada Democratic Party's gracious offer to webcast the Fox debate in August. Or, as they phrased it Thursday, the website "rejects participation in Fox's egregiously unfair & unbalanced" debate. What's that? Oh, yeah, this is at least the second time we've heard of PoliticsTV.com. Yes, agreed, that a still-largely unknown start-up webcast outfit scrambling for publicity would reject the NV Dem's little overture is yet another in the growing stack of things that are embarrassing to Harry and the party. Sort of speaks well for PoliticsTV.com, though.
I'm sure Politics TV still has the utmost respect for the national Democratic Party, the DNC, DSCC, DCCC and the other 49 State Democratic Parties - it's probably just a MAJOR problem with the Nevada State Democratic Party?

If you actually read the story, PoliticsTV's beef is with the terms of FOX's offer. They offered a live feed, PoliticsTV wanted it to stay video on demand. FOX said no.
That's what it is about, not an endorsement of the asinine argument that the NSDP should bend to the will of a small slice of the hysterical blogosphere.

TROLL Alert! "The Man" is either a D.I.N.O. or he may be a Republican operative! "Warning Will Rogers - Warning!"
Posted by: Johnathan L. Abbinett | 03/08/2007 at 04:20 PM
Gleaner alert: Myrna threw The Man off her blog for just causes. Somebody fumigate this place.
Posted by: texex | 03/08/2007 at 04:27 PM
will "smith" i believe
Posted by: | 03/08/2007 at 05:25 PM
texex,
What were those just causes? Myrna claims not to have banned him, but the evidence certainly counters that. If you know something, pony the hell up. If not, it's just more of the same craziness we've come to expect.

Hey "Ryan Jerz" (if that's your real name as the commercial goes) - we agree to disagree, usually amicably, in the blogs, but we all watch out for D.I.N.O.'s and RepubliCAN'T operatives - and they are legion!
"The Man" or "Mr. Johnson" as he now calls himself is obviously not empathetic to the Democratic cause in any way, shape or form, (you know when you really are a radical, right-wing, neo-con, nutcase, zealot, it's not long before one "outs" themself)...
...and we do reserve the right (you know it's another one of those civil liberties and civil right "thingys") to call them as we see them - "Texex" is spot on with him - another good call "Texex"!
That First Amendment stuff gets "pesky" sometimes doesn't it?
Posted by: Johnathan L. Abbinett | 03/08/2007 at 07:20 PM
Damn pesky cockroaches! Can't hardly post anymore without having to step on another one crawling out!
Posted by: | 03/08/2007 at 07:54 PM
Am I shutting anyone down? Um, no. I asked for a little proof, that's all. And where are the rules about having to be sympathetic to the same cause as you wackos? You are invoking your first amendment privileges while congratulating someone who thinks someone else should be banned. It's like Bizarro world in here.
Posted by: Ryan Jerz | 03/08/2007 at 08:12 PM
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.
Posted by: | 03/08/2007 at 08:18 PM
"Ryan Jerz" we are NOT shutting anyone down - "The Man" or "Mr Johnson" or any "troll" is welcome on any site in the blogs - but, whatever you dish out - you got to be able to take the heat!
So, come on in, take a cheap shot - and see what happens? The people in the blogs are very passionate, and often highly educated and politically astute - so you better have a well founded opinion, or, you'll probably get your butt and brain kicked! So, we all try to watch what we say, and when we are writing something provocative - we try to be very, very careful - it is writing!
My advice, "It's better to be nice" and just read the debates and not comment if it's over your head or beyond your understanding and expertise. Lots more people just read to see what the blogs have to say on a topic and never comment - that's O.K. too!
If you've got a strong passionate opinion based in facts and reality - you'll do fine. But, if you try to put out "Bush BULL" here - plan on upping the deductible and co-pays on your health insurance (and make sure it includes mental health services) because you're in for a real bad mental beating.
But, you and anyone else are welcome to join in! So, try again will ya?

First of all, it is Will Robinson...
Secondly, JLA "TROLL Alert! "The Man" is either a D.I.N.O. or he may be a Republican operative! "...JLA you get more and more pathetic in your personal attacks at those who not agree with you. You have become a total embarrassment on this site. This site use to have wonderful and thought provoking comments, but you and the equally lame Texex seemed to have hijacked this site for your own tirades...you against Tom & Liz, and him against Jill.
As for Mr. Jerz, while I don’t always agree with extreme self-righteousness, he posed a serious question and asked for proof, something I have always done with your asinine statements JLA. You guys lob bombs, but when asked for proof, you go on a personal attack.
It is amazing that anyone still allows you two to post on their blogs. I truly feel sorry for both of you, but most of all I feel sorry for the readers of this blog who have to suffer through your million word posts of pure babble…if even there were poster children in support of elder abuse, you two would be it.
But I’ve got to admit my favorite post on this blog was from a central committee member that would rather throw her first born to the wolves instead of voting for you JLA. Have a nice night.

JLA and Texex calling someone a "nutcase" and "zealot", that's rich.
And JLA, the trumpeter of the First Amendment, isn't that about, oh, free speech and censorship. You know, the same thing you accuse FOX of in your long rants.
Oh, and the reason I go by "Mr. Johnson" is because Reno Discontents apparently is also a little touchy and confused when it comes to the First Amendment and all. I guess when someone points out how a post is a cheap shot and then you suddenly take down said post and later ban the guy from commenting it kind of puts a damper on your longstanding claim of open discourse and all that.

She never banned you, get off the cross, someone can use the wood…
Posted by: KidFromVegas | 03/08/2007 at 09:28 PM
JLA, I appreciate the introduction to blogs. I've been looking for someone to show me around them. Call me.
Posted by: Ryan Jerz | 03/08/2007 at 09:43 PM
The kid's drunk again tonight; as usual. You can smell it on him.
Jerz: Get your proof enough yet from the actual shithead that was kicked off Myrna's site. Be careful who you call out into the alley. Around here they usually show up.
Posted by: texex | 03/08/2007 at 09:59 PM
"Ryan Jerz" my time is very valuable, and I'm a really, very busy guy now-a-days, so let me just offer this piece of advice...do some homework and learn some skills before you get into a fight...I'd reccomend "Blogging for Dummies" (one of the well known series) that's where I started and it's a great read and referance manual and not too expensive...good luck!

Hey, for God's sake and yours, and ours PLEASE learn to use the scroll keys, or scroll wheel (if you've got one) - no one is making anyone read any comment from any one else - so, quit your baseless whining and sniping!
I get tired of reading some of your comments, too, but, you don't see me asking Hugh to ignore the First Amendment to the Constitution do you? NOPE!
Scroll fast, or, you can scroll slowly and scan quickly, and you're FREE to decide on your own what you do or do not read - but, you're petty, pathetic attempt at peer pressure isn't going to work - we are NOT all "peers" in here!
Grow UP for God's sake, and yours, and ours - we're discussing important issues, and they are complicated, often confusing and become convaluted, but, believe it or not we're trying to get to the bottom of a scandel and some corruption that affects all of us (whether we agree or not)!

As long as we are recommending books JLA, may I suggest the New American Webster Dictionary. It's very helpful and quite inexpensive.
And Kid, while I do appreciate you calling JLA an embarrassment, the fact was "The Man" was banned. It wasn't a wordpress glitch or browser error. If it was I wouldn't have been able to not post, then post with a different name, not post again with "The Man", but then post again with "Mr. Johnson". Myrna simply didn't like what happened on the Vilsack post and when she got called on removing it, removed me as well. Now she claims otherwise because she was caught.
The whole point isn't that gee I was banned and that's not fair. It is that someone who is always claiming to be open minded and makes routine calls for honest debate, closes ranks the second someone says "This isn't right". That's what it is about.
Posted by: The Man | 03/08/2007 at 10:29 PM
I can't believe 1.) you don't have the balls to post under your real name, so, it's your right to use a "handle", and 2.) you're trying to make a First Amendment argument over having to change your original "handle" and, 3.) this is such an egocentric, irrational waste of valuable time...
...which is what "Trolls" do, they log on, make ridiculous arguments just to stir stuff up, and cause confusion, and waste valubable time - but, you have every right to do so - good luck with that!
BTW: Typos are common in blog commentary, it's a place where busy people, with very busy minds, who value their time greatly, write very quickly and freely and are NOT expected to "spell check" - it's often got a lot of slang and cultural diversity in it, so, thankyou, I have a couple of actual editors - and, no thank you, I don't need another! GEEEEZE could you be more arrogant?
Posted by: Johnathan L. Abbinett | 03/08/2007 at 10:45 PM
Is this a blog or JLA's personal forum? Where there are 20 comments posted 18 are JLA's. Never in my life have I seen anyone use to many words to say absolutely nothing. Jeez, put a sock in it.
"Typos are common in blog commentary, it's a place where busy people, with very busy minds, who value their time greatly, write very quickly and freely and are NOT expected to "spell check"... obviously you're not one of them. Dude, get a life!
Posted by: Jaded | 03/09/2007 at 08:31 AM
It's a blog! That means it's an OPEN forum for ALL, including me, and YOU and EVERYONE! Got a life - and I do a lot of writing, but thanks for the gentile thought and civil spirit of your thoughts - it's so nice to be nice!

So who is Johnathan L. Abbinett?
Politically, he started out as a “JFK Democrat” and remained loyal through the Carter administration. Disillusioned with the radical left wing of the Democratic Party, he switched and became a “Reagan Republican” when he went into business. However, as a moderate, he became very disillusioned with the disturbing rise of the radical right wing zealots and left the Republican Party and became a New Democrat in 2004. In 2006, he didn't get his way in the Democratic Party of Nevada, so he left and registered as an independent. During these months as an independent, he has been on a public jihad to embarrass and shame the party. In 2007, he declared his candidacy for Nevada Democratic Party Second Vice Chair; the same day he switched his voter registration back to Democrat.
Do we really want to elect someone who switches parties more than the average household switches the toilet paper roll?
Central Committee Members…make this strike three and vote for “Anybody but Abbinett.”
