Must dash, but just got the YouTube links to the Titus ads that commenters have mentioned. One is on oil companies, one is on drinking water, and neither is going to win the election for Titus. More later. Maybe.

I've been thinking the same thing for weeks now! This is the most poorly run Gubernatorial campaign I may have ever seen in a general election. Titus was all fire and fight in the primary, and now she's a shell of her former self. Is it that she can't raise money? Has the DNCCC dropped her? What the hell is happenning? I can say this much--if she loses, we can expect the repubs to take a stronger hold on nevada politics for sure. And with Harry going out of his way to help them, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that we can do right now. FIGHT, democrats!!! That's what we elected you to do in the first place! If you aren't willing to give it everything you have, then stay out of the race!!!!! I'm tired of losing!

It was said for a long time that she couldn't raise the money against Gibbons. Yes she is the more liberal dem that appealed to the masses more on the primary election night, but we as democrats ruined our chances by turning our backs against Gibson. He raised nearly four million dollars in the primary. If you look at what he raised vs Gibbons it was not very different. His team did have trouble with the campaign, but that is because we as dems didn't even give him a chance. Oh well these ads are terrible and the word is Titus has no money and it shows with these ads. The biggest problem here is titus will never move a rep to the other side. It is the same old ass arguments that are always on the Gleaners sight. Titus cant cross parties lines.

Look Gibson was a good canidate, but have what we have. Now how do we win, because simply saying stuff like Gibbons wants to take away your health care wont do it because we aren't getting that message out to the masses. Most people on this site have worked or are on a campaign at one time in their life. We all know that money is what will beat Gibbons. Dinas tenasity and endless campaigning wont hurt at all but in the end we need to match him on tv, radio, mailers , and grassroots and that will not happen. Good Luck

I don't know if we should have gone the other way or not--I just know it's not working now! If the story ends up like the media and consultants said it would--titus can't raise money and is too polarizing--then we blew it and have noone to blame but ourselves. I hope to see something good in the next week or so--after that it might be too late! Either way, I have donated to both the titus and carter campaigns, and will be out walking for titus this next week. Come on people, it's not too late!! We can win if we work together!!!!

Senator Titus raised enough money in the Primary to win by a large margin -- even though Mayor Gibson outspent her by about a factor of two. Even Mayor Gibson would have had a hard time matching a Republican dollar for dollar. I don't know of any Democratic candidate anywhere in the country who has been able to do this with the "Bush ATM" touring the country at taxpayer expense in Air Force One.

The idea that Senator Titus is "too polarizing" does not stand up under an examination of her record in the Nevada State Senate. For example, she was the primary sponsor of SB 72 in the 2005 session, which passed UNANIMOUSLY -- 21 to 0! Sounds to me like she can effectively work across the aisle. This bill raised the maximum tax refund from $500 to $1,000, raised the maximum assessed home value for qualifying from $87,500 to $120,000, and the maximum liquid assets for qualifying from $150,000 to $205,000. Unfortunately, after passing the Senate it was sent to the Assembly, where it was read once and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, where it died when the session ended.

Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson's campaign was completely inept. He outspent Titus by a considerable margin, but he nowhere. His staff spent most of their time on the Gleaner instead of trying to garner grass-roots support. And, it looks like they are still here.

And Titus ran a grass roots campaign in the primary, and she's doing the same in the general election. She wasn't supposed to win the primary and did. The general? We'll see. It's kind of hard to overcome all of Gibbons's money, given how many different people and corporations have bought him.

You're a joke, IJ. I don't like the current state of the campaigns--I'm not going to hide that. In a year where I thought we had as good a chance as any in the past 2 decades to win big, we have started to fall short, and in almost every race! I hate it that in every election cycle, Republicans find a way to turn the tables on us and make us the fools, when clearly the evidence suggests otherwise. I have watched the titus, carter, and unger campaigns go down the toilet over the last 2 months and it angers me. I'm sick of losing to these idiots! The problem is--our candidates won't fight! Have you seen some of the tv commercials running right now? I can't even believe titus allowed her most recent ads to hit the air! Unger? Where is he? ANd Carter? He's trying, but he hasn't been able to effectively lobby Reid into doing one damn thing for him. So, my point is--I have a legitimate beef! I will vote with my party, I support my party, but I'm sick of getting our asses kicked all over the place when we should be winning!

As Matt Lauer put it this morning--"If the democrats can't win this year, they need to get into another line of work". I agree!!!!! I have an idea stop campaigning only to the hard core dems. stop destroying each other in the primary so a general election is impossible. The biggest joke of all is what we did to destroy one of the best canidates in the state. OR is someone who is moderate no good to us dems? Dina lost the other half of the democrats because she couldn't understand that people in nevada vote for the person not the party. So her assumption that all dems would go her way regardless of what she said was detrimental to our victory. Here are a few ideas we can use in four years.
