The Census Bureau's report on income, poverty and health insurance coverage released today confirms what most already know: household incomes ain't going up.
Some Nevada notes:
- Nevada's household income, poverty rate and percentage of uninsured all statistically unchanged over three-year average.
- Nevada median household income: $46,984; U.S.: $44,473.
- Nevada's poverty rate: 10.2 percent; U.S.: 12.4 percent.
- Nevada uninsured: 19.1 percent; U.S.: 15.5 percent.
On the uninsured front, by the way, Nevada had the fourth highest rate of uninsured, after Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. That dovetails with similar reports documenting Nevada's high number of uninsured relative to the rest of the country.
